Sarah Palin Will Run for Office Again If God Opens Door
Former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin who was also the 2008 GOP vice presidential nominee says she is willing to run for office again if God opens the door.
"I would [consider a run for office] because ... we know that we're equipped with passions, with interests, we're given those by our creator," said Palin while promoting her latest book, Sweet Freedom, a devotional, on Fox News Radio with host Brian Kilmeade.
"And they're put in us not to frustrate us or tease us, or to just sit on those interests or those gifts of talent — but they're to put us on a road toward fulfillment, toward productivity, ultimately helping other people. And I know that built within me is certainly passion for this country," she said.
In a "Good Morning America" interview, Palin said she didn't have her eye on any particular position in politics right now but said she is ready to take on any opportunity that comes her way.
"No particular office," she told host Robin Roberts when asked what it would take for her to return to politics and what office she was interested in.
"What it would take is just knowing that the American public would be ready for again, someone going rogue and calling it like they see it and having the experience that they believe could be put to good use in the name of service. If I really felt that that was there in terms of support, I'd be more than willing to serve," said Palin.
"And also living my life, putting it in God's hands knowing that you just never know what door may be open. And if the door is open, I'm built to run through it and charge through it and live life vibrantly and help others," she added.
Sweet Freedom, released on Monday, is currently the No.1 bestseller on Amazon's devotionals list and is doing well in several other religious book categories.
"Sarah Palin invites you to draw strength and inspiration from 260 meditations based on guiding Biblical verses. You are not alone in your doubts and anxieties — we all bear the burdens of everyday stresses, and for most of us, our concerns spread beyond our selves to our families, communities, and country. But Palin shows that with abiding faith, and by opening ourselves to the truths that have saved mankind for generations, we can thrive — and experience true freedom," says the description of the book on Amazon.
Describing the book in her own words on "Fox & Friends" Palin said: "It is amazing. God's omnipotence, His omnipotence, he was able to provide this wisdom to the writers of the Old and New Testaments to answer every single one of the challenges that we face today as a nation and personally. I just want to show people where to look in the word, where they can find a verse that answers the question as to what you do with refugees? What do you do about a perverse tax system? What do you do about defending yourself with arms? Believe it or not there are specific answers to everything we are facing today."
