Sarah Palin Says Levi Johnston Is a Liar Over Parenting Claims
Sarah Palin has come out to defend herself and her family from Levi Johnston's recent comments accusing them of keeping him from his child.
Palin flatly denied Johnston's comments, saying they were "false and contrary to our core beliefs," in an interview with TMZ recently.
In an earlier interview, also with TMZ, Johnston – the ex-boyfriend of Palin's daughter Bristol and father to her three-year-old son – claimed that the Palin family was keeping him from seeing his son.
The claim outraged Palin and her family and she immediately spoke with TMZ to offer her response: "We have never hidden Tripp from Levi or discouraged Levi from spending time with him. Any suggestion that we have is false and contrary to our core beliefs."
She added, "We are disappointed that he continues to tell falsehoods about us to garner media attention. We encourage Levi and all noncustodial fathers to be fully engaged and to positively and fully participate in their children's lives. This includes not making misstatements about his child's grandparents."
Bristol Palin has previously claimed that Johnston owes her more than 21 months of back child support for their son. She claims he has not paid his monthly child support amount of $1800 since June 2010. She has said that she has not pursued him through legal avenues yet as she hopes that he will eventually fulfill his obligations as a father "voluntarily."
Meanwhile, Johnston has also announced that he will be a father for a second time. His current girlfriend is pregnant, and he told TMZ: "I'm really looking forward to actually being able to raise my new child the way I want to."
