Sasha Obama Yawn Photo Goes Viral: Inaugural Speech Too Much for Daughter (VIDEO, PICTURE)
Sasha Obama's yawn during her father's Presidential Inaugural speech has gone viral on social media networks. It seems that as her father, President Barack Obama, was giving his speech, events were just going on too long for Sasha as she gave a huge yawn in front of watching cameras.
Eleven year old Sasha's yawn immediately sparked a wave of comments on Twitter, and took away a lot of the attention of her father's speech.
"Sasha's massive yawn was my highlight. Caught the sentiments of the nation perfectly," one Twitter user commented.
Sasha has been a regular attender at her father's political functions for more than four years, and many can sympathize with her for growing bored.
In 2008, Sasha was famously caught giving a huge yawn at the Democratic National Convention as all the political talk became too much for her. At that time she was just 7 years old, and many again thought that she captured the sentiments of a majority of the nation as the political talks went on for hours.
In 2009, Sasha again was requested to join her family at the Presidential Inauguration. At that time again she was caught giving a wide yawn.
Many have also highlighted that Sasha was probably still tired today, after being a featured guest at the Kids' Inaugural Party over the weekend. That event also featured performance from the likes of Katy Perry and Usher. The event was held to support military families, with hundreds of children from military families filling a hall to sing and dance along to the party-like event with Sasha and her sister Malia.
Sasha was also heard on Sunday giving her dad some encouraging words after he was privately sworn in for his second term as president. After Obama was officially done with his swearing in, Sasha reportedly said to him, "Good job dad! You didn't mess up."
On Monday, Sasha's father made his Inaugural speech, and offered a tone of unity, saying mid-way through his speech: "This generation of Americans has been tested by crises that steeled our resolve and proved our resilience. A decade of war is now ending. An economic recovery has begun. America's possibilities are limitless, for we possess all the qualities that this world without boundaries demands: youth and drive; diversity and openness; an endless capacity for risk and a gift for reinvention. My fellow Americans, we are made for this moment, and we will seize it – so long as we seize it together."
President Obama concluded his speech saying, "Let each of us now embrace, with solemn duty and awesome joy, what is our lasting birthright. With common effort and common purpose, with passion and dedication, let us answer the call of history, and carry into an uncertain future that precious light of freedom. Thank you, God Bless you, and may He forever bless these United States of America."
