Savannah Guthrie Married and Pregnant, Makes Big Reveal on 'Today'
NBC "Today" show host Savannah Guthrie had two huge revelations for her fans: she married fiancé Michael Feldman on Saturday and is four-months pregnant with her first child.
Guthrie previously joked that she and Feldman simply could not settle down and plan anything because they were too happy with their lives, even though they wanted to get married. The couple got engaged last summer and took their time planning the intimate ceremony.
"Everyone including our mothers are wondering when the heck we are going to get married," Guthrie told People magazine in November last year. "We had such a great summer. We had a couple of engagement parties. Matt [Lauer] threw us one in New York and Chuck Todd threw us one in Washington. We were just enjoying the moment and the thrill of being engaged. Now we need to actually plan, so we are working on it."
Guthrie and Feldman wed in a small, intimate ceremony on Saturday close to her hometown of Tucson, Arizona. Guests included Matt Lauer, Al Roker, and Willy Geist. During the reception, the newly-married couple made the announcement that they were expecting their first child together in late summer.
"It was beautiful, just everything I could have dreamed," Guthrie told her co-hosts on Monday morning.
"Our hearts (and twitter feeds) are overflowing with joy. Thanks for all of the good wishes from me and @SavannahGuthrie #SavannahSurprises," Feldman tweeted.
The two had been together for four years before exchanging vows. Even though her co-hosts suggested that Guthrie wed during a live segment of the "Today" show, she laughed off the idea.
"Get that out of your mind! Don't even think it. I'm really happy. We're really excited," Guthrie told Al Roker. "He's the best person. He knows me inside and out, and we just adore each other. Our mothers are like, 'Hallelujah!'"
Guthrie was previously married to BBC News anchor Mark Orchard, but they divorced in 2009.
