'Scandal' Season 3 Premiere Gets Stellar Ratings, Stars Thank Fans

The cast of ABC hit political drama "Scandal" were very appreciative of the fans that provided great ratings for the season three premiere.

The premiere, which aired last Thursday, brought in a series high of 10.5 million viewers, according to Deadline.com. And the show's stars and producers took to Twitter to thank fans.

Kerry Washington, who plays Olivia Pope on the show tweeted, "Wasn't tonight's premiere BANANAS?! I feel so BLESSED to be a part of this EPIC show! And soooo grateful that you all are watching #Scandal WE LOVE U #gladiators XO THANK U SO MUCH FOR WATCHING TWEETING & SPREADING THE WORD! See you next week ---> WHATS IN THAT FOLDER?!"

Jeff Perry, who plays Cyrus Beene on "Scandal" echoed Kerry Washington when he tweeted, "THE LUCKIEST ACTORS ON THE PLANET SAY YOU ARE THE MOST AMAZING FANS IN THE GALAXY!!! SEE YOU NEXT THURSDAY! Xoxoxo Cyrus"

Actor Joe Morton, known for his portray of Rowan Pope on the show, wrote "Thanks #Scandal #Gladiators for all your compliments. Many made me laugh. Wish I could respond to more tweets. It was a fun experience!"

The actress who plays Mellie Grant, Bellamy Young, tweeted. "Gladiators I LOVE YOOOOUUUUU!!!!! I'm still shooting 307, but I'm w/u in my heart. HOW CRAZY GREAT IS THIS EP?!?! #ScandalIsBACK"

And also thanking fans was Darby Stanchfield, who plays Abby Whelan on the show. She tweeted to fans, "Gladiators! THANK YOU for tuning into @ScandalABC!!! We are so blessed to have the best fans ever! SEE YA NEXT WEEK for live tweeting! XO"
