"Scandal" fans are catching word that Cyrus Beene, portrayed by Jeff Perry, is leaving the television series.
Furthermore, fans of ABC's hit television show are preparing for what is sure to be an action-packed season finale episode which is rumored to include a shocking death. "Flesh and Blood" is the last episode before the season finale of season three and set to air on April 8.
On Tuesday, April 8, Michael Strahan speculated on live television that Cyrus was leaving "Scandal" while on "Kelly and Michael Live!" Here are some possible scenarios for Cyrus' exit. He feels intense guilt over James' shocking death, repeatedly telling those around him that "it's my fault." As a result, Cyrus could leave in order to take care of his daughter.
Alternately, clues about "Scandal" season three finale have suggested a shocking death, and Cyrus could wind up dead on behalf of President Grant out of loyalty to him. Olivia's mother Maya has a bomb and is posing a threat to Grant, and Cyrus can be expected to continue his faithful service to the president. However, tensions remain high between Olivia and Cyrus, which is straining Cyrus' relationship with the president.
Nevertheless, fans will have to wait until Thursday's "Flesh and Blood" to learn more about Cyrus. The synopsis on TV Guide reads: "Olivia's team try to resolve a security breach. Meanwhile, Fitz contemplates ignoring Olivia's advice when his reelection campaign loses momentum; and Adnan and Maya strategize about how to proceed."
"Scandal" airs Thursdays on ABC at 10 p.m. EST.
Meanwhile, ABC recently revealed the official synopsis for the season finale episode, entitled "The Price of Free and Fair Elections."
