'Scandal' Season 3 Spoilers: Olivia Takes A Break From the White House (VIDEO)

As the third season of "Scandal" begins to wind down, the characters are continuing to work around-the-clock to ensure a second term for President Fitz. Fans know, though, that plenty of drama is only a breath away as Olivia Pope and her associates take on B613, her father, and her mother as well.

According to the International Business Times, tonight's episode, entitled "The Fluffer," centers on Olivia's reluctance to be at the White House with Fitz and Jake, who is trying desperately to get her back. Abby fills in for Olivia, who has taken a breather from the White House environment in order to gain her bearings. Last week, she was left shaken after Fitz revealed why he had cheated on wife Mellie, who had withheld marital relations from him after being raped by his father.

Despite warnings from her father and mother, Olivia is determined to continue investigating B613 and bring the organization "into the light" in order to save everyone. However, the investigation leaves Olivia, and her entire team, vulnerable in ways they never expected. Will she finally cave into the pressure and quit the investigation?

Next week's episode is the pre-season finale and is entitled "Flesh and Blood," which is telling in itself and leads to plenty of speculation about who may or may not be involved. According to ksitetv.com, a serious security breach calls for an "all-hands-on-deck" attitude at Pope and Associates. We already know that Harrison was compromised by a former flame now working for Olivia's mother, who is selling U.S. secrets. Will this finally be the confrontation Olivia wants?

Throughout the season, Olivia and Fitz have done their will-they-or-won't-they dance, but leaks suggest that Fitz may again defy Olivia's advice for his presidential campaign and go it alone. What could this mean for their relationship which has already suffered one serious blow?

"Scandal" airs Thursday nights at 10 p.m. ET on ABC.
