'Scandal' Season 4 Release Date, Spoilers: September 25, 2014 Premiere Adds de Rossi and Walger to Cast
The fourth season for the American politcal thriller series, "Scandal," will premiere on Sept. 25 on the ABC channel at 9 p.m. EST.
Sometime last month, series writer Shonda Rhimes was asked by Matt Webb Mitovich of TVLine on whether she had a title for season 4's premiere yet. She first admitted to not have had any but it was only later that Rhimes was able to come up with a title.
Rhimes tweeted a photo of the script cover with a description that read, "The script. #Scandal #season 4." The script cover reads "Randy, Red, Superfreak, and Julia," enumerating the Gladiators left behind namely Quinn, Abby, Huck, and one other unknown personality.
There were initial speculations that Julia will be a new associate who was rumored to be played by Portia de Rossi. Although it was announced that de Rossi would be cast to the series for the fourth season, it was not announced whether it would be as this mysterious "Julia" character.
Earlier this month, Sonya Walger, who plays Penny on "Lost," was announced to be cast for the fourth season but the character she will be playing is still unknown. Her character is being listed as a potential recurring one which means that she will have ties to one of the regulars.
Walger is also set to have a recurring role in another series, NBC's "Parenthood." Her guest appearance to "Scandal" season 4 will be accompanied by de Rossi, Mary McCormack, and Josh Randall.
