'Scandal' Season 4 Spoilers, Premiere Date, Cast Rumors: Mary McCormack, Josh Randall to Guest Star
It has been confirmed that Josh Randall and Mary McCormack will be appearing in one episode of "Scandal" when the show returns for its fourth season.
McCormack and Randall will play a couple and appear in an early October episode of the show. No other details have been disclosed about their roles, as most "Scandal" details are usually kept under wraps.
McCormack is known for starring as Mary Shannon on "In Plain Sight" and NBC's "The West Wing," and she also had a memorable role in last season's short-lived sitcom "Welcome to the Family."
Randall is probably most remembered for his roles on "Ed," "Greek," and his appearances on "Scrubs," "Pushing Daisies," "Grey's Anatomy," "Castle" and "Masters of Sex."
Randall and McCormack are set to join previously announced guest stars Portia de Rossi, who has been cast for a recurring role, and Kelen Coleman, who is set to appear on the season four premiere.
Meanwhile, show creator Shonda Rimes told The Hollywood Reporter that the upcoming season will feature more of its case of the week stories.
"In season one and season two, Kerry is in almost every scene, and that's not possible in season three. So it just necessitated a different mode of storytelling, and we're very excited to get back to Olivia-centric storytelling," she said.
Rhimes also revealed that other characters in the show will get a share of the spotlight, particularly Olivia's co-worker, Abby Whelan.
"A lot of what we know about Abby happens this season. A lot of what we discover about her and see about her back story will happen as we tell Abby's story," Rhimes told TV Guide.
"Scandal" Season 4 will premiere on Sept. 25 on ABC.
