'Scandal' Season 5 Episode 6 Spoilers: Olivia as the New First Lady

The upcoming episode of "Scandal" is expected to bring in its new first lady.

It was revealed that episode 6 of the hit series will finally see Olivia, played by Kerry Washington, become the first lady. After years of hiding as the president's mistress, Olivia will finally hold the position of being America's first lady.

The previous episode showed some damage control being done regarding Olivia's affair with the president, played by Tony Goldwyn. The couple were helped by Cyrus, played by Jeff Perry, in order to direct the scandal to a marriage proposal for Olivia. This will come as a surprise since Cyrus was originally working with Mellie in order to impeach Fitz. However, since Mellie's plan did not push through, Cyrus had shifted over to the other side.

With that, in order to steer away the negative press from Fitz and Olivia's affair, Cyrus demanded that the two need to get married.

However, the issue of love and marriage will not be the only topic for the episode. It was said that Fitz will be dealing with the war against West Angola.

The synopsis for the upcoming episode also revealed that actor Joe Morton, who plays the role of Olivia's father, will be making an appearance. While there has yet to be any details about what his presence will entail, the promotional video for the episode showed him being strangled. In addition, it was reported that Susan Ross, the vice president, will be seeking advice from David, played by Joshua Malina.

Titled "Get Out of Jail Free Card," episode 6 of "Scandal" season 5 is expected to air on ABC this Oct. 29.
