'Scandal' Season 5 Plot News: No Happily Ever After for Olivia and Fitz
With Olivia and Fitz's relationship finally public, there will surely be more challenges for the couple in the episodes to come for season 5 of "Scandal."
Ever since the return of "Scandal," the series has been hinting toward the relationship of Olivia, played by Kerry Washington, and Fitz, played by Tony Goldwyn. Now that everyone knows about their affair, it can be expected that many will start using their relationship against them.
According to the International Business Times, the upcoming season will have the Congress decide to investigate their relationship for possible situations deemed as impeachable offenses. While Fitz is confident that there is nothing that can be used against them, he was advised by David Rosen, played by Joshua Malina, to get a lawyer to help him with the manner.
He will be hiring a lawyer called Patty Snell, who will be played by Romy Rosemont. Fortunately, Mellie, played by Bellamy young, will be dropped from the case due to conflict of interest. But that is not enough to solve Fitz's problems. It was reported that the judiciary committee is set to use Marcus Walker, played by Cornelius Smith Jr., in order to blackmail Fitz.
As for Olivia, she also has to perform actions in order to take care of some damage control. With that, she will be seeking Leo Bergen, played by Paul Adelstein, to help her turn the story around. It was reported that Leo will be aiming to present their relationship as "the greatest romance ever told." While that does not work for Olivia, the group decided to use the angle of "Olivia as the woman of the people."
This will require Olivia to modify her lifestyle, in order to fit the description. Leo explained that she will need to downgrade her appearance to become more relatable. In addition, the group will get Olivia's ex-boyfriend Edison, played by Norm Lewis, to testify that she is the person they want her to be.
"Scandal" season 5 airs every Thursday.
