'Scandal' Season 6 Episode 5: Jake Asks Olivia to Handle Wife's Problem

Jake's (Scott Foley) wife will cause a ruckus in the Washington political circle in the upcoming episode of "Scandal."

In the episode titled "They All Bow Down," the synopsis reveals that Vanessa (Jessalyn Gilsig) is done playing a politician's perfect wife. While the Americans see her and Jake as the ultimate political couple, trouble is actually brewing between them beneath the surface.

Vanessa has always been a dark horse for Jake, but he still allowed Rowan (Joe Morton) to arrange the marriage for him. Now that she might ruin his chances of being vice president, he needs Olivia's (Kerry Washington) help to handle the situation.

The promo shows Olivia's determination to see her lover be elected. She and Jake have come too far to let some scorned woman destroy everything.

Meanwhile, Vanessa is tired of understanding Jake and Olivia's relationship. She has been acting weird because she knows that her husband is only using her to get what he wants. She is even aware that Jake's affair with Olivia is far from over.

In the clip, the two women are shown squaring off, with Vanessa calling the fixer an unpleasant name. Olivia fails to hold on to her temper and retaliates. She grabs Vanessa by the collar and slams her to the wall. It looks like the stage has been set for a messy catfight.

Vanessa also has no problem showing everyone how she hates Jake. She is shown throwing something at him in front of a crowd of people. Later on, she prances around half-dressed, uncaring if the press can see her.

Jake has a huge problem on his hands if he cannot make Vanessa cooperate with him. He is so close to securing the VP position. With Frankie (Ricardo Chavira) dead and Cyrus (Jeff Perry) in prison, he and Mellie (Bellamy Young) are next in line. Will Olivia be able to create a miracle?

"Scandal" season 6 airs Thursdays at 9 p.m. EST on ABC.
