Scooby-Doo and WWE Collide in New WrestleMania Mystery

The Scooby-Doo gang is back for an all-new animated feature and, like in episodes past, will share screen time with celebrities. However, this time the celebs are not Harlem Globetrotters or Batman and Robin, but rather World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) superstars.

The upcoming animated film, which will be released straight to DVD and Blu-Ray, will feature WWE superstars including Triple H, John Cena, Kane, The Miz, Brodus Clay, Santino Marella, AJ Lee, Sin Cara, and WWE CEO Vince McMahon. There could be even more stars signing on to the project, but so far, these are the confirmed guests.

WWE will work with Warner Bros. studio to produce the film, whose plot has already been released.

"When Shaggy and Scooby win tickets to WrestleMania, the entire gang travels in the Mystery Machine to WWE City to attend the epic event. However, when a mysterious ghostly bear appears and threatens to ruin the show, Scooby, Shaggy, Velma, Daphne and Fred work with WWE Superstars to solve the case."

"We are excited to partner with Warner Bros. on this wonderful animated film," WWE Studios President Michael Luisi told Business Wire. "Kids and adults are going to enjoy seeing their favorite WWE Superstars in animated form join forces with an icon like Scooby-Doo to solve a mystery at the biggest pop-culture event of the year-WrestleMania."

It's clear that the WWE is hoping to bring entertainment to a new, younger audience with the film. The WWE, formerly known as the WWF, has always appealed to fans who have follow the wrestlers throughout their careers. WWE's Monday night show, "Raw" recently celebrated its 1,000th episode, showing just how popular the WWE is.

"Raw" has seen its share of celebrities as well, with legends such as Bob Barker, Donald Trump, and Florence Henderson all appear on the series. Of course, there is also a softer side to the wrestling institution, with the Muppets guest hosting for one night. Now, it seems the WWE will welcome a new set of legends to the arena.
