'Scorpion' Season 2 Cast News: 'Forever' Star Alana De La Garza Joins Cast in Recurring Role
Alana De La Garza, the star of ABC's drama series "Forever," has been signed in to play a recurring role on the upcoming second season of CBS' hit TV show "Scorpion."
The announcement was made through their sister publication, Deadline, and it said that Garza will be playing the new Head of Homeland Security.
Garza's character will be seen as a "smart, tough and driven" leader of the organization. Her goal is for the Scorpion team to be successful in their endeavors at all times. However, it remains to be known if her intention is really for the best of the group or for herself.
The character will take over for former Homeland Security Director Merrick (David Fabrizio). The latter was responsible for Cabe's reassignment for a desk job at the Pomona airport following his demotion in the Season 1 finale.
According to publication, the Season 2 premiere will find Cabe "taking a job as a Hollywood tech advisor until he is summoned back by the new head of Homeland Security to reassume his old position as a liaison for the Scorpion team."
As for the show itself, executive producer Nicholas Wootton revealed back in April that the forthcoming installment of the series will tackle more on arc storylines and will tread less on "adventure of the week" episodes.
"I think what we may have going into next season is more arcs. We'll be able to look at an entire template and we'll be able to plan those things out a little bit more than we did this year, because we really only had the first thirteen planned, and then we moved on once we knew that was coming up," Wootton told Enstarz.
"Scorpion" Season 2 is slated to premiere Monday, September 21 at 9/8c on CBS.
