'Scream Queens' Season 2 News: Jamie Lee Curtis Reveals New Season's Hospital Theme, Says Series Will Be Darker
After a successful first season of "Scream Queens," the new season of the series will present a darker and creepier story.
Fox released "Scream Queens" last year, which was produced by the makers of "Glee" and "American Horror Story." This brought a quirky and entertaining take on thriller shows, making it well received by viewers. With that, fans have been anticipating the return of "Scream Queens" to the small screens.
One of the show's stars, Jamie Lee Curtis, who plays the role of the Dean, recently spoke to E! News about what the upcoming season will bring. She teased that the season will present a new setting, which will surely bring an interesting twist to the story. Season 1 was centered on a university, primarily a sorority house with Chanel, played by Emma Roberts, as the leader.
However, Curtis explained that the new season will bring a lot of chances to the series as it will now take place in a hospital. She said, "I think it'll be dark. I think it's going to be very dark. It's in a hospital, [there's] a lot of darkness in hospitals -- dark hallways, scary rooms, sharp objects, a lot of blood, disinfectants."
Lea Michele, who played the role of Hester last season, also expressed her exciting for the big changes ahead. She said, "I don't know how I can get any darker than I did in season one but hey, whatever Ryan Murphy wants me to do I am totally down with. I'm really excited about it. I get to be even crazier this year than I was last year, if you can believe it!"
Roberts also teased that the upcoming season will bring some new faces to the small screen. She said, "We're adding some incredible new cast members that you'll find out about soon. It's going to be fun, it's going to be wild. We haven't even read a script yet though, so we actually don't know what's going to happen."
"Scream Queens" season 2 will air on FOX this fall.
