'Scream' season 2 plot news: Is the killer Emma's half sibling?
With the shocking finale of "Scream" season 1, there have been news on how MTV plans to continue the story for its second season.
In the first season of the MTV series, it left off with the revealation that the Brandon James-like killer had died. Therefore, fans have been wondering how the series will continue with another season. It was confirmed that the characters still alive in the previous season will return in the new season. While there has been little shared on how the plotline will continue for the episodes to come, it was revealed by executive producer Jill Blotevogel that the team behind the series hopes to expand the story. According to Entertainment Weekly, the upcoming season will have Tom Everett Scott present as Emma's (Willa Fitzgerald) father, Kevin Duval. It will be the key to pushing the story forward.
It was reported that Kevin had left after realizing that Daisy was pregnant with Brandon James' baby. He urged her to give it up for adoption after leaving Daisy and Emma. His character was first seen in the series when he visited Emma at the hospital. There were speculations that the killer harassing Emma might be her own half-sibling.
The second season is currently in its early stages, according to Blotevogel. Nevertheless, it will explore the story of Emma answering mysteries from her mother's (Tracy Middendorf) past. Blotevogel stated, "We've seen a lot of the dark sides of our various characters. I think it's going to be digging into that and uncovering what's within our characters."
It was also revealed that Aubrey will remain an essential character in the series. Blotevogel stated, "Audrey is someone that I feel like the audience relates to and empathizes with, so letting her be the connective tissue between season 1 and season 2 is a great way to let the audience get pulled back in. They want to believe in her. They want to believe that she's good, but there's also a part of them that wants to think she got some justice, too."
There has been no release date announced for the series.
