Seacrest Wedding Rumors Blatantly Dodged
Ryan Seacrest has done his best to avoid answering questions about his relationship with Julianne Hough this week.
The "American Idol" host and the actress have been dating since spring of 2010 and often prompt inquiries about their plans for the future.
While at the event to kick off "Idol Across America" on Friday, Seacrest fielded questions about any upcoming wedding plans.
"Are you getting married," the 38-year-old television personality coyly replied, reported the Associated Press. Seacrest and members of the media exchanged several rounds of "are you?" on the topic before Seacrest finally moved on, but he never answered the question.
"Idol Across America" arrived just one day after the top 20 contestants on "American idol" were announced. The special tour will feature Seacrest's microphone in 13 cities where it will visit landmarks. Fans will be able to watch and interact with the mic as it makes his way toward Hollywood to pick the next American Idol.
Landmarks such as Fenway Park and the Grand Canyon will be featured, according to Perez Hilton.
"It's going to be cool because as the microphone comes through each city, it will be run by fans of the show, local heroes, inspirational figures, celebrities and then it will end up on our stage in Hollywood."
Addressing concerns about the microphone, Seacrest said that just in case, "I'm sure there's one in a holster standing by if it breaks," according to AP.
"American Idol" will be in FOX on Tuesday at 8 p.m. EST.
As for Seacrest and his girlfriend, plans for marriage are still uncertain. However, the 24-year-old actress has revealed that her boyfriend enjoys celebrating their love and hinted at their Valentine's Day plans.
"[Ryan likes] surprising me and ending up at a restaurant and having the place cleared out and rose petals and stuff like that," said the star while speaking to People magazine earlier this year.
"This year I think it will be more understated," added the 24-year-old. "I have no idea [about Valentine's Day plans]. He likes to do Valentine's Day."
Hough noted that Seacrest's efforts make her feel "so cute and special."
