Sean Bean of 'Game of Thrones' Arrested

HBO's "Game of Thrones" star Sean Bean has been arrested under abuse charges in London Wednesday.

The 53-year-old reportedly sent his ex-wife abusive text messages as well as calls and was taken into custody for questioning on suspicion that he aggravated Georgina Sutcliffe, his fourth wife from whom he split in December.

Bean was spotted at the Holborn police station in central London dressed casually, according to U.K.'s Daily Mirror. According to police, the actor was bailed out and not charged as the investigation continues.

"A 53-year-old man attended a central London police station by appointment yesterday, where he was arrested on suspicion of harassment and bailed until a later date," a spokesperson for Scotland Yard confirmed to People.

Bean and Sutcliffe wed four years ago, but split just months after their wedding over an argument that allegedly turned violent. In August 2010, Sutcliffe cited "irreconcilable differences" while filing for a divorce and claimed the British actor was "unbearable."

"Georgina's a smashing girl and she just wants to get on with her life and move on after the divorce," a source close to the couple told The Mirror. "There's been no suggestion of there being violence involved or threats but police take harassment allegations seriously."

Sutcliffe, 34, appears in Agatha Christie's "The Mousetrap." The actress was scheduled to co-star in "Age of Heroes" alongside Bean, but the film will likely see a new cast.

Bean has starred in "Lord of the Rings" in addition to his role as Eddard Stark in "Game of Thrones."

HBO's hit series has seen critical acclaim and recently entered its second season. Bean is joined by costars Peter Dinklage, Lena Headey, Michelle Fairley, and many more in the medieval fantasy series.

Bean has also starred in ITV television series "Sharpe" and in films "GoldenEye" and "Essex Boys," among others.
