Sean Lowe was known as the "Virgin Bachelor" for the longest time since he made that well-known during his time on the "Bachelor" series. Now he's happily married and no longer wants to be called the "Virgin Bachelor" since it's not who he is.

"I was asked about my sex life and I said I want to wait until I'm married," Lowe told Fox 411. "After that it was a firestorm and everyone was asking me about sex and every tabloid calling me the 'Virgin Bachelor.' That name kind of cast me as being an outside because of my values and [people] didn't want to understand why I made that decision."

Even though Lowe is unhappy with the nickname, he sees that it does serve a higher purpose, which is to bring awareness to the fact that people can be happy and abstinent. He also sees his time on the "Bachelor" as a way to honor God and spread the story of his faith.

"But now I see that it's opened up a lot of conversation and it's been a blessing to be able to help people in some small way and maybe introduce them to Jesus because of it. If I'm sitting around talking about my faith and how important it is, that's not fascinating TV," Lowe admitted. "So I don't blame [the producers] for not airing it. But what they did air was the kind of life I want to live, and my morals and values. Maybe it wasn't directly my relationship with Christ, but I think it was obvious."

When he sees reminders of his old life or is called "Virgin Bachelor," Lowe relies on his faith and on God to keep him focused on the good work that he did. He also knows that intimacy is just one aspect of who he is, and that has changed a great deal since marrying his wife Catherine. The two are happy together and hope to start a family sometime soon.

"I see Christ first and I always remind myself of James 4:14 where it talks about how your life here on earth is just a vapor," Lowe said. "I know that the worldly pleasures that I tend to pursue are nothing in the grand scheme of things. Catherine and I are really big on communication even when we're apart. When we're dealing with silly tabloid rumors, we know who we are as a couple and our love is strong."
