Seattle Seahawks NFL Trade Rumors: Team Has Moved on From Trading Richard Sherman

Looks like Richard Sherman is staying in Seattle. At least for now.

On Monday, Seahawks general manager John Schneider told reporters that they have "moved past" the idea of trading Sherman, but he didn't shut the door completely on a possible deal in the future.

"Right now we've kind of moved past it and if somebody calls and goes crazy with something then we'll discuss it again," Schneider said during the interview, according to USA Today.

"I don't mean go crazy, but you know what I mean. Like, give you compensation where it's something where you really, truly have to think about it and consider it, then we would have to consider it," he continued.

Well, it's clear that the Seahawks are not in any hurry to trade him. Sherman clashed with coaches last season, but they don't really have to get rid of him because of those incidents. Cornerbacks of his caliber are not exactly a dime a dozen. He is still a vital member of the secondary and the team needs him.

The team should just keep him if they can't find a trade partner who is willing to give them what they want in exchange for the All-Pro cornerback.

"Richard may see it as a fresh start for him and we may see it as a way to clear some cap room and get younger, but neither side is super urgent about it," Schneider said during the team's pre-draft press conference earlier this week.

The Seahawks have publicly discussed trading Sherman, but the cornerback actually initiated the trade talks. Amid it all, Sherman reportedly maintained a good working relationship with the Seahawks and he communicated frequently with Schneider.

After skipping the offseason workouts last week, Sherman decided to join his teammates at the Seahawks' training facility this week. Of course, these workouts are voluntary, but it seems everything is back to normal.
