Selena Gomez 2012 Clothing Line Sends Positive Message to Kids

Selena Gomez has been making large strides with her latest single “Hit the Lights” which hit YouTube in mid-November. The young star has been growing exceeding popular with her attentively followed relationship with Justin Bieber, her successful third album with her band-“The Scene,” a Disney Channel series, movie career, and features on several magazines.

The Latin teen star is also favored for her positive public image, which is virtually spotless. Gomez’s year old fashion line is returning with fresh designs in 2012. “Dream Out Loud,” which is featured only at Kmart, showcases eco-friendly clothing for tween age girls.

The clothes are inspired by Gomez’s own style, “pretty, feminine, and bohemian,” she says. The clothes are made of soft materials so as to be comfortable. She wishes for all young girls to be comfortable in their own skin.

"With my line, I really want to give the customer options on how they can put their own looks together…I want the pieces that can be easy to dress up or down… Also, the tags will all have some of my inspirational quotes on them. I'm just looking to send a good message," Gomez said in an interview with Hollywood Crush.

In a promotional video for “Dream Out Loud,” Gomez revealed one of the most important factors she considers when choosing her fashion.

“At the end of the day, you should not wake up and dress for anybody but yourself,” Gomez says.

“Because there will be magazines, there will be people, boyfriends, there will be girls who will say, ‘That’s what looks good, that’s amazing, that’s in!’

“But ultimately at the end of the day you’re going to dress for yourself,” she adds.

Fans find great encouragement in Gomez’s positive attitude on self-image and fashion.

“Selena Gomez has done such a great job of being a wholesome, positive role model for young girls. It's nice to see that these days,” a fan wrote on Twitter.
