Selena Gomez Dating, Always 'The Girl You Bring Home to Parents'
Selena Gomez revealed insight to her policy on dating during a recent interview, clarifying that she upholds certain values.
The 21-year-old "Come And Get It" singer was formerly in an on-again, off-again relationship with Justin Bieber. Despite feeling "broken" after her split from Bieber this year, Gomez noted that she will always be a "good girl."
"You fall in love and it completely consumes you," said the Texas native while speaking to Teen Vogue. "So a part of you is broken when that's gone. And part of you wants to have that rebellious feeling where you're just like, forget it, I can do anything I want."
However, Gomez explained that rule-breaking and one-night-stands were never her style.
"I've tried it, and I've never been that girl," she said. "I'm always the girl you want to take home to your parents, not for the night."
As for dating today, the former Disney star said she values her own opinions of people and remains open to meeting people.
"I like to say I have a good sense of judgment, but I know that not everybody does," said Gomez, according to Teen Vogue. "The older I've gotten, the more I've learned to open myself up to all opportunities. Maybe I'll get burned and not meet the right people, but I won't know until I do it."
Meanwhile, the interview with Vogue was not the first time Gomez has opened up about being single. The singer addressed why she could never date Drake and even revealed a celebrity crush while speaking to The TJ Show on 103.3 AMP radio last month.
It all started while Gomez was cheerfully answering fans' questions over the phone when one caller told her, "You're my boyfriend's guilty pleasure."
"Actually, he's not even guilty about it," the caller continued. "He sometimes refers to you as his baby. Are you flattered by that?"
Gomez humbly replied that she was "super flattered" and admitted she does the same thing when it comes to Drake.
"I'm like, 'Awww [Drake] did that for me,' when it's like, he did it on Twitter," the singer joked.
However, the singer pointed out that she and the 26-year-old rapper could never date.
"I mean this in the nicest way possible- I just don't have a big enough butt for Drake," she said, according to the radio show.
As the interview progressed, Gomez noted her impression of Zac Efron.
"He is the nicest person and it makes him even hotter," she gushed. "He's super nice and it's totally attractive."
