Selena Gomez 'Devastated' Over Justin Bieber Arrest; 'Wants Him to get Help?'
Selena Gomez was reportedly devastated after learning about Justin Bieber's DUI arrest and insiders claim the former Disney star refuses to give up on him.
Bieber, 19, was arrested in Miami on Thursday on suspicion of DUI, drag racing, resisting arrest and driving with an expired driver's license. He spent a short time in police custody before his bond was set by Miami-Dade County judge Joseph P. Farina in the amount of $2500.
Gomez, who reunited with her on-and-off boyfriend in recent weeks, reportedly woke up to the alarming news.
"She has been woken up and told what is happening," a source told HollywoodLife.com. "She is completely devastated over what has happened."
Bieber, who has been mired in controversy in recent months, had reportedly been receiving support from the "Come And Get It" singer in recent weeks in the wake of a police raid on his home. On Jan 14 the "Heartbreaker" singer was left shaken after Los Angeles County Sheriff's raided his Calabasas home in relation to a Jan. 9 egg-throwing incident.
Gomez has reportedly been urging Bieber to seek professional help due to a series of troubling behavior however he is reportedly not interested. Despite his reluctance to seek treatment, the actress is said to be standing by him and offering support in the wake of Thursday's arrest.
"She is praying for him and is not giving up on him, but she is also angry at him for treating himself, his friends, and her like s---," an insider revealed.
"She knows he needs help, and wants him to get help and get better — she hopes this is a wakeup call," the source continued. "She is skeptical though, and is scared that he will think of [the arrest] as more 'street cred' [instead of] realizing that he has issues."
The pair, who split last year before sparking reconciliation rumors earlier this month, have reportedly not spoken since Bieber's arrest. Gomez is believed to have reached out to his mother Pattie Mallette.
"She has not spoken to Justin yet but has been in touch with his mom, who is also worried sick about her son," another source said.
"They are all hoping this is a wake-up call. Selena is just beyond thankful that no one was hurt," the source added.
