Selena Gomez Still Struggling With Justin Bieber Split? Singer 'In A Bad Place'
Selena Gomez shocked fans last week when he abruptly canceled the remainder of her first ever solo world tour and a new report claims the singer's split from Justin Bieber may be to blame.
The "Come & Get It" singer, 21, has reportedly been struggling emotionally since splitting up with Bieber, 19, earlier this year. The pair dated on-and-off since December 2010.
"Dealing with her breakup from Justin has still been affecting her and she's been in a bit of a bad place recently," a source told RadarOnline.com.
"Her family stepped in and basically advised her to either go to therapy or stay with them so they could watch over her. Her team agreed that family time would be best," the source explained.
The former Disney star was scheduled to perform in Asia and Australia after the New Year however on Dec. 16 she announced that she would not perform and instead focus on herself. Gomez kicked off her world tour in August, it was set to wrap up in Melbourne, Australia in February.
"My fans are so important to me and I would never want to disappoint them," Gomez said in a statement obtained by EOnline.
"But it has become clear to me and those close to me that after many years of putting my work first, I need to spend some time on myself in order to be the best person I can be," she continued. "To my fans, I sincerely apologize and I hope you guys know how much each and every one of you mean to me."
Insiders close to the singer insist that she is doing well, despite growing concerns about her recent tour cancellation. She has reportedly been leaning on friends and family during this difficult time.
"Selena has plans to hang out a lot in the coming weeks with close friends like Taylor Swift," the insider revealed. "Taylor has been a really good support system for Selena in recent weeks."
