'Sengoku Night Blood' Episode 2 Spoilers: Vampire Warlords Toyotomi and Oda to Engage in Bloody Battle?
The time-displaced Yuzuki's adventures in the mysterious parallel universe of Shinga have begun on the Japanese fantasy-romance anime series, "Sengoku Night Blood." But with the formidable Nobunaga Oda suddenly appearing before her and the newly charged-up Hideyoshi Toyotomi, is she in any danger of losing her life before she could figure out what has just happened to her?
The series features a stellar cast of characters gathering together more than a handful of historical warlords in a multi-faction war that aims to unify the country. And falling right in the middle of one such battle is a girl from the modern world, whose name was never mentioned once in the entire premiere episode to help preserve the female viewer's illusion of being in the female protagonist's shoes.
In a celebratory message posted by the series director, Katsuya Kikuchi described recording with a large cast list as a fantastic experience.
"I tried to include lots of cool scenes that make the viewer feel like they are right there to experience what Yuzuki is experiencing," Kikuchi said. "So I hope you can enjoy it as though you are Yuzuki herself," he added.
The character is being voiced by Rie Kugimiya whose most prominent roles include Alphonse Elric in "Fullmetal Alchemist," Kagura in "Gintama," and Happy in "Fairy Tail."
There is no doubt that the female protagonist is a very important character in the entire narrative, which was proven by how her blood seems to have charged up the injured vampire Hideyoshi, helping his wound to heal faster than normal.
But a much bigger threat has just appeared before them in the form of Nobunaga, who may well be another vampire himself. Is a huge battle about to break between the two warlords, or will Yuzuki's presence keep the two of them from fighting to the death?
There are other factions existing within Shinga, and all of them are either vampires or werewolves. At the moment, there are no clear alliances present between these factions, as each aim to take the other down.
On the other hand, Yuzuki has decided to help the talking Imari she met one night to locate the Himemiko, whose disappearance led to the ongoing war. She used to keep the peace across the lands, but now that she's gone, everybody seems determined to be the one to unify the country once more.
How will Yuzuki, whose arrival has been predicted by the Himemiko before she vanished, affect the overall outcome of this ongoing battle between vampire and werewolf warlords?
