'Sense8' Season 3 News: Porn Site Exec Confirms Discussing Sexy Version with Wachowski Sisters
A few weeks back, a porn site made an offer to host "Sense8" season 3 following its cancellation on Netflix. One of its executives now confirmed that there were discussions with the show's creators, the Wachowski sisters, to do a "sexy version" of the series.
Alex Hawkins, the vice president of the adult site xHamster, told The Wrap that the Wachowskis responded to their letter where they offered to have the show on their site. They discussed a potential sexy season 3 last August but nothing has been confirmed so far.
Hawkins describe what he meant by "sexy version."
"Ideally we'd want to push the line more than was allowed on Netflix," he said. "If we could get penetration, of course we'd include it."
Hawkins admitted that there's a stigma around putting up a show from a porn company but he is confident that "Sense8" viewers will follow where the show goes. He also thought that the series fitted their brand perfectly and took a shot at approaching the Wachowskis when "Sense8" got canceled.
Hawkins, however, said that negotiations have yet to happen. Talks about the actors' willingness to do hardcore adult scenes and budget concerns haven't been laid out on the table. "Sense8" was an expensive show to produce and it's reportedly the chief reason why Netflix gave up on the series.
"We made the proposal to be the distribution platform," Hawkins clarified. "If they accept the offer, that's where the negotiating comes in."
Meanwhile, Netflix gave "Sense8" a bonus despite axing the series. It will have a two-hour special to wrap the stories up and it will be on the streaming platform sometime in 2018.
Lana Wachowski, however, said that she's still writing the full script to season 3, despite Netflix's order of a movie treatment only. Whether this third season will arrive at xHamster's platform or somewhere else is still undetermined, but Wachowski said it will be her gift to the fans.
