Seven-Time Lottery Winner Shares Secrets: 'Don't Buy Quick Pick' (VIDEO)
Richard Lustig says that winning the lottery is not about luck and while some people are doubtful, he may be just the person to ask.
Lustig has managed to take home jackpots within his lifetime, prompting him to suggesting that winning the lottery has nothing to do with luck.
"Luck has absolutely nothing to do with it," he said in an interview with Fox 4. "How can anybody in their right mind say this guy's won seven times he's just a lucky guy? Come on. Nobody can be that lucky."
Instead Lustig has a strategy that he believes is so fool-proof, he has even gone as far as to write a book about his methods. The book is titled "Learn How to Increase Your Chances of Winning the Lottery," and offers lotto playing tips, some of which are also available on his website.
One of his first tips is to drop the "Quick Pick" option, which allows the computer to auto select numbers for a ticket.
"Here's a big, big tip which is going to shock a lot of people," he said. "Do not play quick picks. Quick pick does not increase your odds of winning." Instead, the 7-time winner suggests that people go in with their own numbers that have been researched to determine if they have won in the past. He also suggested to go with ten sets of numbers and to stick with them for additional ticket purchases. And of course, there is power is numbers so buy as many as you can afford, says Lustig.
One his book page, Lustig even has followers who testify that their odds of winning seemed to have increased since following his tips.
"My husband and I used Richard Lustig's lotto method and within months of starting the method we hit a
Mega Money jackpot for 2 million dollars! It was really easy to follow. You only play what you can and you can still win! Shaun and I will only play lotto from now on using these strategies," one happy fan wrote.
