'Sex and the City 3' Axed News Update: Kristin Davis Talks Movie's 'Deeply Frustrating' Cancellation

Kristin Davis is just as upset as fans after Sarah Jessica Parker broke the news that "Sex and the City 3" is officially not moving forward.

The star, who played the role of Charlotte in the original HBO series and the movie adaptations it spawned, took to Instagram to confirm and lament Parker's news.

Davis posted a couple of pictures of her character from her favorite episodes as she looked back at the "long history" of "Sex and the City."

It is true that we are not going to be able to make a [third] film. I wish that we could have made the final chapter, on our own terms, to complete the stories of our characters. It is deeply frustrating not to able to share that chapter (beautifully written by Michael Patrick King) with all of you. So we will just have our memories, but please know that all of the love and support for us through the years is felt by us and we are so grateful for all of you! SATC forever in our hearts.

Despite this, Davis feels "incredibly lucky" to be part of something this big and play the role of Charlotte "through all of her ups and downs" in "Sex and the City."

According to a source that spoke to People.com, it is Davis who was the "most into the idea" of doing the third film and that she was really hoping "Sex and the City 3" will push through.

There is no word as to why the project was axed, but fingers are being pointed to Kim Cattrall, who played Samantha in the franchise, after reports emerged that she did not share the enthusiasm of both Davis and Parker to do the threequel.

Daily Mail TV claims that it was her "outrageous demands" that killed "Sex and the City 3," something that Cattrall promptly corrected.
