5 Interesting Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump Second Presidential Debate Moments
4. 'The devil'
While the debate was largely devoid of religious comments, at one point Trump called Clinton "the devil" in a statement echoing what he has said before on the campaign trail.
"Bernie Sanders, between super delegates and Debra Wasserman Schultz, he never had a chance. I was so surprised to see him sign on the devil," said Trump.
Clinton laughed off the name-calling, noting that she and former Democratic primary challenger Bernie Sanders were presently on excellent terms.
"I'm proud of the campaign that Bernie Sanders and I ran. We ran a campaign on issues, not insults. And he is supporting me 100 percent, because we talked about what we wanted to do," argued Clinton.
5. One nice thing
The final question of the evening came from an audience member who asked the two nominees if they could say something nice about their opponent.
Clinton went first, saying she believes one good thing about Trump is his children, whom she said benefited from having him as a father.
"His children are incredibly able and devoted, and I think that says a lot about Donald. I don't agree with nearly anything else he says or does. But I do respect that and I think that is something that as a mother and a grandmother is very important to me," said Clinton.
For his part, Trump commended Clinton for being a person who refuses to give up on what she endeavors to do, even though he disagrees with it.
"I will say this about Hillary. She doesn't quit. She doesn't give up. I respect that. I tell it like it is. She's a fighter," said Trump.
