'Shadowhunters' News: Season 3 Gets Earlier Premiere Date; Magnus to Face a Founding Father
"Shadowhunters" season 3 has been confirmed to have its launch date moved up earlier. Meanwhile, Magnus (Harry Shum Jr.) will be facing a powerful threat in season 3.
The new season of "Shadowhunters" was originally set to premiere in April next year. However, showrunner Todd Slavkin confirmed to a fan on Twitter that the premiere date of season 3 has been moved to an earlier slot.
The post that Slavkin replied to was about a fan freaking out over the news of season 3's new premiere, which is March 20. The fan was asking someone to confirm the new launch date because he didn't want to have his hopes up, which Slavkin was more than happy to oblige.

"Yes March 20, 2018! Best xmas present ever!" Slavkin replied to the fan's post.
Meanwhile, Magnus will be facing a very powerful warlock in season 3.
According to TVLine, the High Warlock will be going against a Founding Father named Lorenzo Rey, portrayed by Javier Munoz.
In the exclusive first look photos, Magnus and Lorenzo appear to be enjoying their company at a gathering. However, season 3 has yet to confirm how Magnus will cross paths with the Founding Father warlock.
Another teaser offered from the first look photos involves Jace (Dominic Sherwood) and Clary (Katherine McNamara). In the photo, the two appear to be having a very deep discussion.
Could it be a sign that Clary and Jace are finally getting somewhere?
For the meantime, fans of "Shadowhunters" can tune in to Slavkin's Twitter account since the showrunner has been offering a lot of teasers for the upcoming season.
When a fan asked him to rate from a scale of 1 to 10 how much Alec (Matthew Daddario) and Magnus' relationship will develop in season 3, Slavkin answered a 12, indicating that the new season should have a good storyline for the pair.
Shadowhunters" season 3 is slated to premiere on March 20, 2018 at 8 p.m. ET on Freeform.
