Shakira After Baby, Singer Spotted On Beach Vacation
Shakira debuted her post-baby body on the beach over the weekend, six months after welcoming her son Milan.
"The Voice" mentor and her boyfriend Gerard Pique welcomed their first child on Jan. 22 in Barcelona, Spain, and before long, Shakira headed back to the reality television series.
Due to the demands of her job, Shakira openly discussed pressure to get back into her pre-baby form, but it appears as though the singer's struggles are over.
On Sunday, the new mother and her boyfriend were spotted on vacation in Hawaii where Shakira attracted the attention of photographers, according to Splash News.
Over the next few days, the Colombian singer and Pique, a soccer player, continued to frolic in the Pacific Ocean looking ill at ease in swim gear.
Shakira's confidence to don a bikini serves as inspiration to many new mothers who are struggling with post-baby weight across the world.
As a result of going back to work just two months after Milan's birth, the "Whenever, Wherever" singer disclosed that getting back into her pre-baby shape was not easy, among other surprises of motherhood.
"I didn't expect babies to need so many diapers," exclaimed the 36-year-old mother during the NBC Summer Press Day in April, according to US Weekly. "Nobody told me they needed to be changed so often!"
Furthermore, "The Voice" mentor noted the high demands placed on women by the entertainment industry as well as society to get back into shape following the arrival of a baby.
"I mean, I guess our mothers and grandmothers weren't under the pressure that women of today are after delivering a baby," explained the singer. "My dad says that there's nothing better than a little meat on the bone! He likes my mom a little chubby. So she was never under pressure to get back to her old weight, and she never did, actually!"
However, the 36-year-old singer did not take an extended maternity leave and headed back to the television studio in March.
"It's different, I have a career, and that's the only part that's been a bit stressful because I knew that I'd have to come back here to do 'The Voice'," said Shakira. "I didn't have my four months maternity leave like every woman on earth has. So I'm not trying to complain, but it's been a process full of challenges in my life."
Shakira also noted that dancing during Zumba classes helped her get back into shape.
