'Shameless' Season 8 Episode 1 Spoilers: Carl Decides to Save His Family

Carl (Ethan Cutkosky) will help his family get some much-needed cash by selling his share of Monica's (Chloe Webb) meth in the upcoming season premiere of "Shameless."

In the episode titled "We Become What We ... Frank!," the synopsis reveals that the Gallagher kid will decide to put his inheritance to good use. The money he will get for the crystals will, of course, be used for whatever scheme his family is doing at the moment. Suffice to say, Frank (William H. Macy) will be very proud of his boy for his "selfless" act.

Before her death, it was revealed that Monica was keeping several meth crystals. The Gallaghers decided to distribute the drug among themselves. Fiona (Emmy Rossum) put her share inside Monica's casket while the rest kept theirs.

In an interview, executive producer John Wells said that although the family would have problems, they always have got each other's back. When they need help, the siblings would not hesitate to lend a hand, especially now that they are all grown-ups. Fiona will have no reason to worry about her younger brothers and sisters.

"When the kids were growing up, there were these moments of the family holding onto each other just for survival so they don't drown, but then they reach an age where they could take care of themselves and should take responsibility for themselves, so it becomes a question of 'How much do you separate?'" the EP teased. "Uniquely in these kinds of families, the survival instinct to be together is really strong. They've survived together, and being in the foxhole bond is great."

Meanwhile, Frank is ready to prove that he is a changed man. Spoilers reveal that he will have a job and a car. His kids will even see him properly shaved and wearing a suit. It looks like Monica's death will have a huge effect on Frank. Even though they were separated, she was that love he never got to forget. Soon, though, viewers can expect Frank to get tired of his good boy persona.

"Shameless" season 8 is expected to air on Sunday, Nov. 5, at 9 p.m. EDT on Showtime.
