'Shameless' Season 8: Lip to Encounter More Trouble

Lip's (Jeremy Allen White) attempt at a better life will hit many snags in the next season of "Shameless." Is he really as hopeless as his sister, Fiona (Emmy Rossum), thinks he is?

According to TV Over Mind, the new installment will see Lip wanting to make something of his life. He previously told his girlfriend, Sierra (Ruby Modine), that he wanted to go back to school. Lip also promised he would continue to attend the meetings with AA. Lip is a struggling alcoholic. Even after getting out of rehab, he could not seem to stop himself from drinking. Fiona has already lost her patience with him. She threatened to kick him out of the house if he does not change.

Although Lip will do his best to change, speculations predict he will struggle in his quest. He has a terrible role model in his father, Frank (William H. Macy). Lip has already demonstrated that out of the Gallagher children, he is the unfortunate one who inherited Frank's pitiful ways. It is possible that he will drop out after attending a few sessions in school. The same goes with the AA program he's attending. Hopefully, Sierra will knock some sense into him. The two look like they are going to stick to each other in season 8.

Meanwhile, other spoilers report that Fiona will be busy with her new business venture. Last season, she bought a building from the real estate agent, Ryan (Barry Sloane). Fiona sold the laundromat, believing that managing it did not suit her. Fiona's main goal is to get rich. She may even end up using her mother's stash of crystal meth to finance her new hobby. There are also speculations that Fiona will meet someone special. It is also possible that her exes, Sean (Dermot Mulroney) and Gus (Steve Kazee) may return.

"Shameless" is expected to return to Showtime in 2017.
