Shannen Doherty Calls Cops as Twitter Fan Threatens Suicide
Shannen Doherty has reportedly called cops to report a woman who had left a message on social media site Twitter saying she would kill herself if the actress did not contact her immediately.
The Hollywood actress was sparked into action to help the unknown woman from hurting herself after seeing the message left to her on a frightening Twitter posting.
The woman who had posted the threat to the Beverly Hills 90210 actress was allegedly a 27 year old from New Jersey.
Doherty wisely did not submit to the request to call the troubled woman, but instead picked up the phone to alert authorities asking that they investigate and ensure that the woman did not do anything to harm herself.
The actress reportedly told police that she had received some strange messages from a female fan on the social media network and was concerned for her well-being and safety.
Authorities responded by sending around police officers to the troubled woman's home address, which had also been posted to Doherty in the threatening tweet.
It is reported that when police arrived at the address listed by the woman, they found a female at home with her family members. Police found no evidence that the woman had attempted or was about to attempt to harm herself.
The police also reportedly offered the woman medical attention, however, she refused saying that she had no intention of hurting herself and did not require any type of medical assistance.
Doherty sent the following tweet after the ordeal, "Thank you to the Westampton police department for being diligent and so reassuring."
