Shaunie O'Neal Battling Shaq In Court Over Reality Show

Shaunie O'Neal, the ex-wife of NBA star-turned-correspondent Shaquille O'Neal and producer of VH1's reality show "Basketball Wives," is battling her ex-husband to feature their kids on her new reality television venture, "The Shaunie Project."

The O'Neals divorced in 2010 after eight years of marriage. Although the pair co-parent, it seems Shaunie could not convince Shaq to let her feature their children in her upcoming VH1 show, "The Shaunie Project."

According to TMZ, a judge ruled in Shaq's favor to grant a hearing to decide if the show would go on with their children. While Shaq does not want to feature his children on the show, Shaunie wanted a judge to let her move forward with the project without a hearing which may take time.

Shaq has joint custody of his four children and is arguing that he does not want cameras in their home to distract some of them from school work that they are already struggling with. However, Shaunie is insisting that the show will be wholesome, according to TMZ reports.

Although TMZ is reporting that Shaunie wanted to begin filming her show in January, waiting on a hearing to determine if her children can be featured in it could change things. Earlier this year, the O'Neals spoke about their past and present relationship.

While the 7'1" ball player has publicly admitted to being unfaithful to Shaunie, she revealed that the pair is in a good place.

"We've put it all away. We still have fun," O'Neal told Access Hollywood. "We were at my mom's the other day having a round of free throws. We have a great time... I think we're actually better friends now."

The former NBA champion detailed his unfaithful ways in his 2011 book, Shaq Uncut: My Story. In the book, he detailed what went wrong with his previous marriage.

"At one time my ex-wife Shaunie and I were happy, but I admit it - I was a guy. I was a guy with too many options," he wrote. "Choosing to be with some of those women, well, that's on me. In my mind, I never did it disrespectfully, but obviously I shouldn't have done it all."
