Meanwhile, DC Comics chief creative officer and DC Films boss Geoff Johns appeared on Sandberg's Instagram page, with a photo of him holding up a sign telling the director to "get back to work."

After all, "Shazam!" is set to open in cinemas on Apr. 5, 2019.

Despite the date already being set, fans still do not know who will be playing Billy and Shazam. It has been previously reported that the studio is looking to get two different actors for these roles.

Billy Batson, also known as Captain Marvel, was created by Fawcett Comics and became one of the most popular superheroes in the 1940s. Orphaned at a young age, his story of becoming a superhero started when he was led by a mysterious stranger through a tunnel.

He was brought before the ancient wizard, Shazam, in the Rock of Eternity. And because of the goodness he possessed in his heart, young Billy was given the powers of Captain Marvel. Whenever he says "Shazam!" a magical lightning bolt hits him, turning him into an adult superhero, although his personality and intellect remain the same. To be able to turn back into Billy, he needs to say the same word again.
