'Sherlock Holmes 3' movie: Jude Law shares ideas for upcoming installment
It was reported that there will be another installment for the "Sherlock" movie series.
A previous report by Fashion N Style stated that the script for "Sherlock Holmes 3" is currently in progress. Recently, Jude Law, who plays the role of John Watson, shared details on what he pitched to director of the film, Guy Ritchie, for the upcoming installment. It was reported that Law suggested a time travel–type movie, which was rejected by Ritchie.
He said, "But I guess, if I'm being honest, I think both Robert and Guy kind of went ... what? But I kind of thought ... I can't remember. I thought that was in top secret. I'm amazed that someone has leaked that. Yeah, I thought [we could] sort of combine H.G. Wells and Sherlock Holmes. And then Downey topped it by going, "Yeah, and the time travel machine is ... it's something you eat." I wonder what he's referring to there? I don't know. You eat it and you go, "Oh my God, I'm in 2024!"
It is unlikely for the film to take that direction since the main features of the previous films centered around the aesthetic of the 1800s setting, compared to the modern interpretations of the well-known Sherlock novels such as Benedict Cumberbatch's "Sherlock" or "Elemetary." According to IGN, producer Lionel Wigrem shared that the script they are working out is expected to be the best one out of the three, which made Robert Downey Jr., who plays Sherlock, and Jude Law, who plays Dr. Watson, excited to reprise their roles. However, fans are curious to know about how the upcoming film will fix the ending of the previous film, where Holmes was seen falling to his death after fighting Moriarty.
There has yet to be any official announcement regarding the film, therefore, no release date has been speculated.
