'Sherlock' Season 4 Release Date, News: Series Star Teases "Around Christmas" Roll Out Date; Baby Watson Coming Soon?
With the exception of the Christmas special, "The Abominable Bride," patient followers of the hit BBC favorite detective show, "Sherlock," have been forced to wait for over two years to hear updates about the upcoming Season 4. Now, one of its main cast members, Martin Freeman, teases that the next installment might arrive to the small screens "around Christmas."
As reported over at Independent UK, the 44-year-old star squeezed in some moment to appear on "The Graham Norton Show" while they are busy filming for the TV series with co-star Benedict Cumberbatch, who plays the titular character.
"We are back filming now and the three shows will, I imagine, be out around Christmas," Freeman told the media outlet.
It has to be noted that in earlier reports, it was indicated that the new chapter of the show might not return on air until 2017. It is yet to be confirmed if the outing will indeed fall in the said year-ender schedule.
Regardless of when Season 4 will come, avid fans should be delighted to hear some spoilery updates about the characters.
The report from the Daily Mail pointed out that Dr. John Watson could be appearing soon with a baby in his arms.
Last week, the publication spotted Freeman carrying a decoy baby who appears to be straddling in a carrier as he, together with Cumberbatch and on-screen/off-screen partner Amanda Abbington, walks down the busy Borough Market.
According to DM, the military doctor and the former CIA agent, Mary, is having a baby daughter and this new family member will definitely bring some new exciting development into the story, especially their friendship with the sleuth.
The filming scene finds the trio traversing the said location with Mrs. Watson holding on a leash, a large hound. DM went on to cite series co-creator Mark Gatiss hinting via his social media account that the new series will take inspiration from one of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's most recognizable stories, "The Adventure of Silver Blaze," in which the detective and his companion investigate the disappearance of a race horse which happens to be connected with the death of its trainer, John Straker.
Stay tuned for more updates.
