'Sherlock' Season 4: Tom Hiddleston In Running to Play Holmes?
"Sherlock" season 4 is still about a year away from its premiere, but rumors and speculations about the upcoming series are already flying left and right, and one of them is about Tom Hiddleston being cast as the third Holmes in the series.
In season 3, Mycroft talked to politicians about Sherlock's punishment, and his audience suspected that he could be biased toward his brother. In one of his lines, he insinuated that there might be another Holmes, according to Crossmap.
"You know what happened with the other one," said Mycroft at the time.
While some speculated that the "other one" Mycroft was referring to could be an employee. However, Crossmap says he is too smart to compare his brother to another employee.
Season 4 may finally reveal who Mycroft was talking about in the previous season. Some fans think that the other Holmes --- Sherrinford --- could be played by Tom Hiddleston. This piece of news, however, is still not confirmed, the report details.
The speculations regarding the events in season 4 are endless. The next season could also feature the death of Mary due to childbirth, as what Martin Freeman hinted. Mark Gatiss, on the other hand, says the opposite is true, the report details.
Meanwhile, show creator Steven Moffat has revealed that they have already scheduled the filming for season 4 to begin in spring this year. He had earlier mentioned that they had a bit of difficulty with the hectic schedule of lead stars Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch, Korea Portal reports.
Aside from that, Moffat and Gatiss both promised that the next season will be full of adventure. Gatiss also hinted that fans are in for a big life-changing season for the series' characters, the report relays.
Moffat had previously revealed that filming for the next installment will begin mid-2016. "Sherlock" season 4 is expected to premiere early 2017 on BBC.
