'Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom' Release Date, News: Game Officially Launches on April 18

A lot of well-renowned titles from big gaming companies are on the prowl in the market, getting much publicity and hype. While the competition is fierce, some indie games, such as Enigami's "Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom" in particular, are able to crawl into the fray and surprise everyone, and now it finally has a release date.

In the latest music trailer, expectant players are given a treat with first dibs on the enigmatic and captivating soundtrack of the game. The oriental-inspired tunes dominated by mesmerizing woodwind and chimes are definitely a nod to classic role-playing games that have made their places in memory.

The more explosive announcement within the trailer, however, is the confirmation that the game officially becomes available for download on April 18, 2017. Fans that have been bedazzled by its concept will now have a date to mark on their calendars.

It can be recalled that the developers teased on their official website that the game will be available in a few weeks after Feb. 16. Now that a confirmed date has been made, the guessing is over and it will only be a matter of counting days before players get their hands on the title.

The game's plot revolves around Chado and his band of unlikely friends on their quest to restore peace in the land. While the story is rather generic and common, the gameplay isn't as it harmoniously combines elements of role-playing games (RPGs), the fighting genre and open-world characteristics.

While there is a riveting and rich story, battles are not based on hack-and-slash, rather the battle format is a one-on-one skirmish similar to arcade games. On the overworld, each character has unique field skills that aid in navigation and solving mind-boggling puzzles.

"Shiness: The Lightning Kingdom" arrives on PlayStation 4 (PS4), Xbox One and PC platforms on April 18, 2017.
