'Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou' Air Date, Spoilers: Last Two Girls on Earth to Explore Empty Cities in Upcoming Dystopian Anime

Two young girls with very different personalities try to survive together in a dystopian world in the upcoming Japanese anime series, "Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou (Girl's Last Tour)." How long will they be able to hold on to their reasons for existing in a world filled with nothingness?

Civilization has long since died along with all traces of life. However, two girls named Chito and Yuuri have managed to survive for some reason. With nothing else to live for, they decide to embark on a journey across long stretches of empty roads and complicated ruins as they strive to survive each day in search for a reason to keep going.

Chito is the calm and intelligent half of the duo. She loves collecting books and keeping track of their days by writing in her diary. She is also in charge of driving their motorbike, Kettenkrad. Her voice will reportedly be done by Inori Minase.

On the other hand, Yuri is an overly optimistic kind of girl who loves nothing more than to eat. And while she leaves the complicated details and planning to Chito, she can be relied on to put her skills with guns and her body to good defensive use. She will be voiced by Yurika Kubo.

The series is based on a Japanese manga series of the same name created by Tsukumizu and published in Shinchosha's online magazine, "Kurage Bunch," since 2014.

On the other hand, the anime adaptation is being produced by White Fox with Takaharu Ozaki serving as director and Kazuyuki Fudeyasu taking care of series composition. Mai Toda will be adapting Tsukumizu's original character designs for animation.

Minase and Kubo will reportedly be performing both the opening theme, titled "Ugoku, Ugoku," and the ending theme, titled "More One Night."

"Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou" premieres on Friday, Oct. 6, at 9:30 p.m. JST on AT-X, at 11 p.m. JST on BS11, and at 10:30 p.m. JST on Tokyo MX. It will also air on Sun TV on the same day at midnight JST and on KBS Tokyo late night at 1:30 a.m. JST.

Information on other broadcast schedules and online resources can be found on the series' official site.
