'Silicon Valley' Season 2 Release Date Spring 2015? No Cast Change for Christopher Evan Welch's Character

The first season of HBO's comedy "Silicon Valley" successfully illustrated the tech industry in a fun and entertaining way. It has been revealed that the character of Peter Gregory, played by the late Christopher Evan Welch in the first season, will continue acting as the "wizard behind the curtain."

Venture capitalist Peter Gregory, played by Christopher Evan Welch, was argued as being one of the funniest characters on the show. Unfortunately, during the filming of season one, Welch died from lung cancer. Welch's death came while filming the fifth episode of the season, which resulted in major rewrites. However, the cast and crew agreed that Peter Gregory's character was irreplaceable, and could not be discarded from the show.

Show creator Mike Judge said that Peter will be very much like "Charlie" in "Charlie's Angels," but the situation will need to be handled in a comedic way to stay with the tone of the show.

The powerful conclusion of season one did not leave fans disappointed, yet it left some room for the story to be developed. Small hints were made about how some of the characters could be presented in the upcoming season, and these small changes could give the show a different feel, according to Cynobs.com.

Richard (Thomas Middleditch) and Monica's (Amanda Crew) potential romance could disrupt the entire dynamic of the house. Though Richard is prone to giving in to peer pressure, he knows when not to listen to his colleagues, so there's a big chance of seeing Monica and Richard dating throughout season two.

Fans and critics who were drawn into the geek culture depicted in the show knew that this would be another hit for the network, and they were proven right as HBO ordered a second season for the series after only three episodes of season one.

A specific date for the release of "Silicon Valley" season two has not been announced as of the moment, but it is rumored to premiere in spring of 2015 on HBO.
