'Silicon Valley' Season 4: First Teaser Trailer Features Richard Quitting, Jared Screaming

The first official teaser trailer for the upcoming fourth season of HBO's "Silicon Valley" has been released. And if it is anything to go by, Pied Piper may be in serious trouble.

The clip, which lasts a little under a minute, starts out with Richard (Thomas Middleditch) proclaiming to his team that he is quitting, much to their surprise. It then goes on to feature a few scenes from the new season, which includes the guys looking outside the window and Richard kicking his foot through a door.

The next scene sees Richard telling everyone that he insists on retaining Pied Piper as their company name, even though it is obvious that the rest of his team do not like it. This trope has been a long-running gag throughout the first three seasons of the show, and it looks like Richard is still not ready to change the name.

It appears that Richard is finding himself stuck with their current Pied Piper data compression software, and he is looking to make something else. He considers building a "new internet," but Monica (Amanda Crew) points out that Richard is acting "crazy."

The final scene in the teaser trailer shows Richard discovering something in their garage with Jared (Zach Woods). Although they do not say what he chanced upon, it is clear that it is something big and exciting, as Richard lets out a small cry of surprise. Jared soon joins in and they start exchanging shouts that get louder in progression. However, as usual, Jared takes it a little too far and lets out recurring screams.

With the company now technically owned by Erlich (T.J. Miller) and Big Head (Josh Brener) of Bachmanity, "Silicon Valley" season 4 will continue to depict Pied Piper's journey in the technology industry.

HBO announced earlier this month that the fourth season of "Silicon Valley" will premiere on Sunday, April 23.
