Simon Cowell Storms Off US 'X Factor,' British Judge Angry at Other Judges' Decision

Simon Cowell lost his cool and walked away from his American “X Factor” seat after one of his acts, Drew, was eliminated from the competition by the other judges.

The popular British-man pleaded with his colleagues to allow Drew to stay, insisting that his mistakes led her to be in the position of having a sing-off with Marcus Canty to stay on the show. However, his pleas were not enough to sway the other three judges, according to The Daily Mail.

Drew chose to perform “Listen to Your Heart” by Roxette, trying to show the fans and the judges some hidden talents they had not discovered. In the deciding vote, Paula Abdul declared the song failed to move her. The celebrity judge chose to send the 14-year-old singer home.

Upon hearing the decision, Cowell got up from his seat and stormed off from the judging panel. Drew broke down in tears, and Cowell went on stage to comfort her. Amidst the sobs, she managed to tell her fans that she will be back and they will see more from her. Cowell was not so positive – when asked, he simply said that he had nothing to say to the other judges.

It does not mean that Cowell has no more chances for one of his prospects to win the X factor. He still has Rachel Crow and Melanie Amaro in the final rounds. The winner of the competition gets a $5 million recording contract and the opportunity to launch widely successful entertainment career.

Other main highlights from the show include a performance by Tinie Tempah of his award-winning single “Pass Out,” and an opening tribute to Michael Jackson where all the contestants performed a rendition of “Man in the Mirror.”
