Grant spoke with The Christian Post about her nominations at this year's 43rd Annual Dove Awards, scheduled to take place in Atlanta, Georgia next month.

"For me it's a constant confirmation that I'm doing what I was created to do and it's not about an award," explained Grant. "It is just about celebrating one another and cheering one another on. It's a really special time to cheer one another on."

The recently Grammy Award-nominated singer noted that earning recognition is not the most important part of her career.

"Sometimes I feel like a little strange about awards in general in Christian circle of people because we don't want to bring about competition," Grant told CP. "It's just about celebrating, there's no possible way that my one voice could reach the entire universe for Jesus Christ and we all need to do our part."

This year marks the fifth year in a row that Grant has earned the prestigious Female Vocalist of the Year nomination, after winning the title for the past four years. The powerhouse vocalist admitted that she is often still shocked when people mention her four consecutive wins.

"To have won Female Vocalist of the Year four years in a row is still, you know I hear people say that and I say, 'Oh you must be talking about someone else,'" Grant laughed.

Noting her husband's four Dove Award nominations, Grant said producer Bernie Herms is also very much looking forward to the April awards ceremony.

The Dove Award winners will be revealed during the awards ceremony April 19, 2012 at the Fox Theater. Grant is among the lineup of performers during the night.

In addition to her musical career, the mother of three has taken a stance to end human trafficking. Grant and author Charlotte Gambill have teamed together in the "Dare to Be" Women's Event, a conference tour that is scheduled to kick off April 12.

Each 3-hour conference uses media pieces as well as music by Grant and lessons taught by Gambill.

"We want to provide a place where women can rediscover their God-given dreams," said Grant.

Close friends, Grant and Gambill met in what Grant called a "God moment" where she realized the British author had been put in her life for a specific, significant purpose. The two had dreamt of planning a conference together.

"We are in the same stage of life we are at a similar age," explained Grant. "What is on our hearts- we aren't trying to reinvent the wheel … [The conference] dares us to take a step out and and say 'What is it that God has created a destined me to be?'"
