Skillet Brought Their 'American Noise' to 35,000 in Russia
Platinum selling Christian rock band Skillet returned to Russia's Black Sea last week and played to over 35,000 fans at the Kubana Festival with System of a Down.
Simultaneously their new single became their second No. 1 hit from RISE as "American Noise" reached the top spot on the Christian Hot AC Chart. "American Noise" is the follow up to their Top 10 Mainstream Active Rock and No. 1 Christian Rock single, "Sick of It."
RISE is currently the No. 1 selling Christian album seven weeks after being released.
Skillet will also be appearing at the 50th anniversary of the "I Have A Dream" speech.
The event is hosted by THE DREAM@50 and American Eagle Outfitters, and invited fans to Times Square on Saturday, Aug. 28 at 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. to stand in support and honor of Dr. King's vision of a world free of racism and full of equality.
Those in attendance will have their own dream for a better world videotaped and posted worldwide for the "My Dream" video series.
Other celebrity participants include John Legend, Forest Whitaker, Mayor Cory Booker, United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and more.
The band also recently announced they would be joining the Carnival of Madness tour Aug. 13 in promotion of their new album. They have posted the tour dates on their site.
The tour is hosted by Monster Energy and features Papa Roach, In This Moment, and Shinedown.
"I'm very passionate about bringing it every night," singer John Cooper said in a statement released by the band. "People paid to get there, and that's how you make fans. I do think that philosophy is part of that million records that we sold."
