'Sleepy Hollow' Spoilers: Joe Corbin Killed Off, Zach Appelman's Last Day on Set
Hit supernatural TV series "Sleepy Hollow" surprised its viewers during a Season 3 episode when a main cast member was killed off in the most tragic way possible. Zach Appelman's character, Joe Corbin, has been a regular since the start of Season 2, but his stint in the series is cut short when he died while lying in the hands of his girlfriend Jenny, a character played by Lyndie Greenwood.
For those who aren't that familiar with the hit series, Joe and Jenny are two characters who team up with Abbie (Nicole Beharie) and Ichabod Crane (Tom Mison) in fighting different evil forces they encounter in each episode. Joe was eventually was claimed by a Sleepy Hollow monster that accordingly was inside him from the very beginning. He was reverted back to Wendigo, the monster he was cursed to become.
The death of Joe came off as a huge surprise for fans of the show and obviously several of his followers are at an awe right now. But just like most other shows, it brings more intrigue and versatility in the storyline.
Sleepy Hollow has been well-received by viewers, thanks to the daily dose of monsters and constant threat to the lives of the characters. When this kind of show runs for a long stretch with the same concept of characters always figuring out how to survive each battle against the villain or enemy, then it becomes boring and annoying to the audience. So killing off a main character would definitely relight the fire in the show.
It was Appelman himself who confirmed that his character will no longer be resurrected or brought back to life in some magical way. He posted an Instagram photo with Greenwood, with the caption:
Last day on set with the best co-star a guy could ask for. Gonna miss this one.
