'Sniper Ghost Warrior 3' Release Date: Game Suffers Another Delay, Needs Further Polishing
Another delay hits the production of the highly anticipated open-world first-person tactical shooter, "Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3."
CI Games is asking for a three-week extension, which pushes the release date from April 4 all the way to April 25. The studio's CEO Marek Tyminski explained the delay in a statement picked up by IGN.
"We've worked tirelessly creating a whole new 'Sniper: Ghost Warrior' experience set in an ambitiously crafted open world new to the series," he said.
"While it's an unfortunate decision to delay the game one last time, we believe these final changes will result in a better experience for players worldwide on day one. Thank you for your patience — we know the wait will be worth it," he went on to say.
"Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3" was originally set for release in January, but last year, it was announced for an April 4 release instead. Tyminski provided the same reason.
He said that the delay was necessary in order for them to make sure that the next "Sniper: Ghost Warrior" offering will "stand up to the expectations of the fans."
Putting together "Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3" is definitely no easy task. The CI Games CEO described it as the "biggest game" that his team has ever worked on and one they envision to change the sniping genre as a whole.
The CI Games executive also promised during that first delay that they are "pushing really hard to make the entire experience more polished."
From the looks of it, "Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3" is in a state that is still not up to snuff for the company. The delay only means that fans will be treated to a high-quality game that is worth the wait.
Those who preordered "Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3," which is priced at $29.99, will get the Season Pass for free. This includes a couple of single-player downloadable content (DLC), two multiplayer maps, exclusive all-terrain vehicles and weapons in the form of the McMillan TAC-338A Sniper Rifle and Compound Bow.
