Snow White 2012 Film: Kristin Stewart and Charlize Theron Appear in Thrilling Trailer (VIDEO)

Snow White is no longer a children’s tale in the new film trailer that debuted this week.

“Snow White and the Huntsman” is an adaptation of a Walt Disney classic. It opens up less like a cartoon and more like a medieval adventure of epic proportions.

Charleze Theron narrates the dark trailer with complex visual elements, such as a crow exploding into a flock of birds.

The remake of the classic tale will feature a new version of Snow White who must escape the land ruled by an evil queen with the help of a huntsman and seven Dwarves. Apart from Charlize Theron, Chris Hemsworth will be the huntsman and Sam Claflin will play Prince Charming.

Any dwarves in the film clip are not doting on Snow White, played by Twighlight’s Kristin Stewart, as she is wielding a sword in a forest full of surprises. The well-known mirror on the wall that described who the “fairest one of them all” is transformed into a shape-shifting golden hued enigma that seems to ignite the evil queen’s hunt for Stewart’s character.

Stewart said her Snow White character would be nothing like characters from Disney's version.

"It's not a little girl sitting by a well with little tweety birds telling her what to do and where to go," said Stewart to MTV during previous filming. "[The costume] makes you feel kind of strong occasionally, sometimes, but I kind of feel tiny, my pinhead sticks out of these enormous things."

Theron explained the complexity of her character, the Evil Queen.

"This, as a fable, she sort of just starts off as a bad person, so it was important to understand [why she is the way she is]," said Theron to MTV. "A lot of her circumstances will kind of bleed into her actions. ... She's a serial killer; I'm pretty much preparing to play a serial killer."

Ian McShane, Nick Frost, Bob Hoskins, Toby Jones, Eddie Marsan, Stephen Graham, Ray Winstone will play the seven dwarves in the film slated for a June 1, 2012 release.
