'Snow White and the Huntsman' Trailer Creates Twitter Buzz (VIDEO)
The most recent, extended trailer for upcoming film "Snow White and the Huntsman" has fans buzzing over its intense action scenes and stunning imagery, and several publications have taken to Twitter to express their impression of the new movie.
The film, to be released in theaters on March 30, stars young actress Kristen Stewart, who is famous for starring as the leading lady in the cult following Vampire series,"Twilight." Stewart plays "the fairest of them all," Snow White, as she tries to evade the trappings of the evil queen, played by Charlize Theron.
Stewart is aided by a huntsman, played by actor Chris Hemsworth, who is initially sent to capture her from the Dark Forest but eventually teaches her the art of war to protect her from the evil queen.
"New 'Snow White and the Huntsman' trailer is as dark as a real fairy tale," tweeted Forbes.com, the official website for Forbes business magazine.
Critics contend that the new film is no child friendly fairy tale, but rather reflects the darker, more action-packed side of story plots, as seen through the films "The Hunger Games" and "Twilight."
Fashion magazine Marie Claire for the United Kingdom tweeted Tuesday morning that the trailer looks "scary," and that Kristen Stewart "looks fierce."
The plot of the film declares that the only way for the evil queen to maintain her eternal, youthful beauty is for her to eat the heart of Snow White."
"'Snow White and the Huntsman' trailer: Charlize Theron wants to eat Kristen Stewart's heart," tweeted celebrity gossip website Entertainment Weekly.
In the original fairytale, which hails from Germany but was re-created and made popular by The Walt Disney Company, involves the Queen simply wanting to kill Snow White, and the huntsman having to deliver Snow White's heart in a box to prove he had killed the young beauty.
Critics argue that director Rupert Sanders and producers Joe Roth and Sam Mercer are trying to add a major "wow factor" in this remake of a classic.
